I know it is pro wrestling, and wins and losses do not matter much, but you see my point. His entire face run has been great for his career. During the first half though? Not much to speak of. His last few weeks hurt him. Seeing Mark Henry limp around the arena is just sad. Give him a rest to help heal up, please! I will say this—if he was healthy and still World Champion, he would be getting the top spot! That being said, his first three months consisted of nothing.
It was not until his heel turn in April that he really made his intentions known. He was going to be a World Champion no matter what. There was nothing stopping him from proving all of his critics wrong. His entire summer run was excellent. He beat local talent. He beat John Morrison. He beat Sheamus. He beat Big Show, Kane , Khali and everybody else.
Of course, there were still doubters out there. There always will be. That is just the nature of life. Either way, cynics were quickly made into believes when he won the World Title and had a great reign. Henry completely solidified his WWE career, and it makes me proud to have been a fan over the years. As I said earlier, the beginning and end of hurt his ranking, but the rest more than made up for the year. Get well, big man!
I debated back and forth between Henry and Orton, but the choice was clear the past few weeks. Randy Orton was the top star in this business for I do wonder what his will be like, but that is not the topic here. This is about the past 12 months, and they belonged to Mr. He didn't need titles. He didn't need wins every week. He didn't need to be the center of attention every show. From his feud with The Miz for the WWE title, to rightfully beating CM Punk at two PPV events in a row, to rightfully beating Christian for the World title twice during the summer months, to rightfully putting over Mark Henry clean many times, to rightfully helping Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett gain some footing heading into the new year.
Notice what I discussed there? Everything Orton did in was right. I can't argue with a single outcome he was involved with. You add in a move to Smackdown. You add in great matches every single month. You add in some wonderful feuds. You add in a "cool" character, and you add in one epic finisher! I give every new follower a special shout out, so do not be shy For a while now, being Tag Team Champion was of little significance, but that is quickly changing.
AirBoom is the first step in bringing prestige back to the Tag Team division. Evan Bourne will never be a main-eventer, but his current run as Tag Team Champion has boosted the status of Evan Bourne. Kofi Kingston has continued his success from and carried it through No, he isn't feuding for the WWE Championship, but he has established himself as a top mid-carder. Kofi will almost certainly never reach the main-event after he seemed to be in , but has established himself as an excellent performer.
Sin Cara Hunico? Whether it's his failed drug test or switch to Hunico, "Sin Cara" has been all over WWE in his short time with the company. The old Sin Cara displayed inconsistencies, but Hunico appears to be much more reliable. It is no secret that Rey Mysterio will not be returning anytime soon—possibly ever—and Sin Cara is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Though I am not his biggest fan, he will almost certainly fill the void now that Mysterio has departed. As mentioned in the previous slide, Rey Mysterio's career is coming to an end.
Voted as one of the top superstars of all time, Mysterio is a certain Hall of Famer. When healthy, he has taken part in many feuds this year and continued to be as consistent as they come. What a comeback year for R-Truth. I'll admit, I couldn't stand the old R-Truth. Now I find myself laughing every time he appears on Raw. Teaming with The Miz will only help the career or R-Truth, a career that most thought was done.
Though he will likely never compete for a world title again, has been the year for R-Truth. Cody Rhodes even holds a victory over Randy Orton and though it may be a dirty one, a win is a win. Nick Nemeth has developed greatly and is primed for more success in the future. It seems as if his relationship with Vickie Guerrero may be ending soon, which will allow Dolph to show his charisma and possibly win a major title No, I don't count his brief stint as WHC a reign.
The WWE is very high on Ziggler and for a good reason. I had a hard time placing Daniel Bryan this high on the list because of his recent losing streak, but this man won a Money In The Bank match.
He has to be primed for greatness, right He may be the IWC's golden boy, but he deserves to be. He is arguably the most skilled wrestler in WWE and possess amazing ability.
Daniel Bryan's charisma isn't as bad as people say and he should have time to develop it further before his match at WrestleMania. I have a valid reason. Even when Christian was champion, he was portrayed as a weak champion—as weak as possible. His first title win was impressive and he competed in many brilliant matches with Randy Orton, but was never the top Superstar on SmackDown.
I believe WWE put Christian in such a high-profile feud this past summer to reward him for all of his time spent with the company, similar to what Mark Henry is experiencing right now. Christian will likely be out of the World Title picture for the rest of his career, but "Captain Charisma" has had a super career none the less.
Believe it or not, has been a down year for The Miz, but he earns a No. It won't be long before Miz is competing for the WWE Championship again, but until then he will be competing in the Tag Team division, a place where he has proved himself before.
I am extremely happy to be able to put Mark Henry so high on this list. Though he hasn't been champion in yet , he has received a mega-push like no other. You can't call a guy "Worlds Strongest Man" and treat him like a jobber. There is no arguing the ability of John Cena—he is the face of the company because he deserves to be.
I can predict the rest of fairly easily for John Cena. He will win the WWE Championship There is absolutely no way CM Punk finishes before the superstars filling the final two spots on this power ranking list. That being said, CM Punk has had a career year in and has finally broken into the main event. Yes, he has been in the main event before, but this time it seems as if he will be staying for a long time. Though Punk has had an amazing summer, I still believe he is on the rise.
His status will only continue to grow in WWE as he finally establishes himself as the future of the company. He has held the World Heavyweight Championship numerous times and has been on quite a roll in The rest of his career will be more of the same.
More winning, more RKO's and more gold. Probably only one. Alberto Del Rio has had a historic year in and though I don't particularly care for him, there is no arguing his talent. He may not be my favorite WWE superstar, but he definitely has had the most impressive and easily earns the No. Enjoy our content? You get beaten down after you win your match. No satisfying victory. You just get punked again. Rey Mysterio: I liked the whole amnesia plot, but it really was kind meh to me.
Played through just to get RVD. Versus Undertaker: I love how trippy it gets. The only beef I had with this storyline was facing Undertaker at Wrestlemania. I know that it was supposed to get much harder at that point, but I wanted a challenge, not a damn reversal fest. Christian: Dude, it's Edge and Christian!
The same Edge and Christian from the good old days! Need I go into more detail than that? User Info: jjonc Taker 2. Christian 3.
Jericho 4. Cena 5. User Info: Brandon Let's see, top to bottom for me. Undertaker - This one was Not changing this sig until Melchiah releases his SDvsR formulas. Brandon, couldn't agree with you more I should have put it dead last to begin with because of the fact that it WAS John Cena and the fact that the storyline was so ordinary that no one should play it in the first place. Well, there's that and the fact that IMO, the wrong person got fired at the end.
I'd make a DAS story about that, but creativity, I have none. User Info: yuhdednow. Cena's is last because I'd rather be Oton than fight him.
