Ian Kinsler didn't like a strike call home plate Manny Gonzalez made and took a little extra time before getting back in the box. After hitting a fly ball to center with the Tigers trailing in the bottom of the third, Kinsler slammed his bat in frustration.
The bat broke and Kinsler tossed it back toward home plate, which resulted in Gonzalez tossing him from the game. Kinsler said he didn't realize he had been ejected until he returned to the dugout.
He showed his displeasure, arguing with Gonzalez and crew chief Fieldin Culbreth before exiting the field. Culbreth, speaking for Gonzalez to a pool reporter, said the ejection was due to what Kinsler did with his bat. Ausmus: Rondon doesn't need to 'dial it back'. Kinsler said he didn't say anything about the strike that was called, even though he disagreed with it.
