It is a really useful tool and often overlooked. There are 2 types of factories that produce 25mj shields, 25mj shield fab and medium shield fabs. They are also sold at split eq docks, another commonwealth race forgot which one probably paranid eq docks and the terrans are a really good source for all shield types. Mar 06, I find it stupid that in X3 all these ships use 25mj shields but yet i can't find one place that sells them i eventually bought a express L just so i could steal its 25mj shields and sell the ship back afterwards. In your game where is a 25MJ shield complex or a place that sells them i cannot find any place at all.
With something in the range of units, and able to use L-size missiles in XRM, at least , you can hurl a substantial amount of firepower downrange even before using your not-insignificant laser weaponry. With the right missiles read: a cargo bay full of Belugas , which hit for k damage!! These are probably one of the stronger choices as an all-purpose carrier-borne fighter. Wiki Content.
